Mutual curiosity, collaborative inquiry and compassionate listening are successful alternatives to adversarial approaches, and encourage transformative social change. I focus on the achievement of positive, enduring impact<b> <\/b>on issues of critical community and organizational importance, building respectful, inclusive and meaningful partnerships.<\/p>\n<p>Past work has explored important local, national and international issues in partnership with government, civil society, and the private sector, through facilitated public dialogues and focused stakeholder workshops to generate unbiased, interactive and\u00a0outcome-oriented programs.<\/p>\n<p>Global Civic Policy Salon, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=V5-wF7NDpkU\">&#8220;Bees and Dialogue,&#8221;<\/a> video 4 May 2016<\/p>\n<p><b>I\u2019m available for<\/b>:<\/p>\n<p><b>Interactive Workshop<\/b><\/p>\n<p><strong><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Developing Dialogue Skills<\/span>:<\/em><\/strong> Explore dialogue as a useful tool to generate non-partisan and constructive communication around difficult topics that impact the social, economic, environmental and cultural well being of our communities.<\/p>\n<p>Probe these and other aspects of dialogue in an active, experiential, interactive and skills-based format. Our goal is to develop concepts, structure and content that will encourage participants to conduct their own dialogues with productive outcomes useful within government, business and community groups.<\/p>\n<p>This program is for you if you&#8217;re interested in conducting internal dialogues within your organization to improve routine meetings, conflict resolution, strategic planning and team building; want to develop dialogue-based workshops and conferences that take participants beyond the usual static meeting into novel and engaging formats where innovations flourish, or are interested in putting on civic consultations with multiple stakeholders that use dialogue to transform your public event into a productive, efficient, and consensus-building meeting.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Talks<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Bee Time: Lessons From Bees and Dialogue About Leadership: <\/strong>There are powerful lessons to be learned from both bees and dialogue about leadership, to engage the people and events surrounding us with greater focus and clarity, interact more effectively in our professional teams, and improve how we collaborate, communicate and work. Dr. Winston will talk about his leadership experiences through over 40 years of walking into apiaries and facilitating complex public and stakeholder processes around difficult issues of societal importance.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Sum is Greater Than the Parts<\/span><\/em>:\u00a0<\/strong>This talk covers what we can learn from honeybees about layering individual actions into complex organizational functions. We\u2019ll look at how bees collaborate, communicate, listen and respond to each other, plan work and transfer information to the thousands of individuals that make up a hive. Our focus will be on lessons we can apply to our own organizations to better integrate individual actions and to strategically implement effective organizational change.
